The TDI-Myocardial Thickness (Wall Thickness) detects chamber, myocardium and epicardium simultaneously and uses these to measure the change in myocardial thickness.
It is possible to visually capture the change in thickness of the local myocardium over time from M-mode images taken on different cursors (set at arbitrary positions and angles) by using TDI short –axis moving images.
The software clearly displays the change in thickness diameter of the local myocardium (Radial strain).
Due to this measurement method, sharp analysis of regional Radial strain is possible. We avoid the involvement of longitudinal strain length in systole, which is the error inherent in conventional B-Mode Strain analysis methods.
A combination of A-SMA, CQ and TDI-Myocardial Thickness opens a door to evaluate global cardiac function. You can also analyse the systolic function on Endocardium and pericardial sides by splitting the wall into two. It is easy to compare, in real-time, normal sector and abnormal.
